“Happiness at work is closely correlated with a culture of greater performance and productivity as well as greater energy, better reviews, faster promotion, higher income, better health, and increased happiness with life. So it’s good for organizations and individuals, too.”, CEO of iOpener and author of Happiness at Work ,Jessica Pryce-Jones tells Forbes.
We spend more time in the office with our co-workers than we spend time at home with our families. Most studies show that the vast majority of employees don’t feel happy at work, they are disengaged, reluctant to get up in the morning to spend the next 8-10 hours in a dreadful environment? Why does it have to be like that? Well, it doesn’t.
This week my guest is Alexander Kjerulf, Chief Happiness Officer at Woohoo, a leading international consulting firm on happiness at work. Alex is based in Copenhagen, Denmark, and has worked with hundreds of clients in over 45 countries since 2003, including Lego, Accenture, Microsoft, McDonald’s.
Today with Alex we will talk about:
– What happiness at work means.
– What companies can do to create a meaningful and purposeful work experience.
– How to get buy-in from management AND employees.
– How to maintain a high level of happiness overtime.
– What differences he sees between Europe and the US around the employee experience.
